Guidant Cofounder David Nilssen was named one of the Top 100 Small Business Influencers in a contest conducted by Small Business Trends and Small Biz Technology. The award recognizes individuals, companies and organizations in North America for their commitment to small business. Winners were determined by 40% popular vote via social media and 60% by a panel of judges, who are experts in small business.

Guidant was pleased to be named a finalist in the 2011 Washington’s Best Workplaces contest conducted by the Puget Sound Business Journal. To qualify, companies must be at least four years old with 10 or more employees at an office in Washington. After a nomination period, employees of qualifying companies complete a work satisfaction survey by a third party firm. Companies with the highest scores on those surveys then become finalists.

Guidant was honored to be featured among the Top 20 Best Places to Work in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. The list was determined by an independent research firm who surveyed employees and evaluated the resulting data. Three quarters of each company’s score was based on a confidential satisfaction survey with their employees; one quarter was an employer questionnaire completed by each company’s Human Resources team who reported on benefits, policies and practices.

Due to its significant growth, Guidant again ranked on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. This was Guidant's third appearance on the list. According to Inc. magazine, which sponsors the annual Inc. 5000, the 2010 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2006 to 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006. Additionally, they had to be based in the United States, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2009.

Guidant is named sixth fastest-growing privately owned small business in Washington by Puget Sound Business Journal. Winners of the Fastest Growing Company Awards were chosen based on their level of growth over the last three years, namely the percentage of revenue growth.

Due to its significant growth, Guidant ranked number 945 on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. This was Guidant's second appearance on the list, after making number 384 in 2008.  Guidant also ranked number 41 in the Financial Services category, and number 26 in the Top Businesses in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area category. According to Inc. magazine, which sponsors the annual Inc. 5000, the rankings are determined by the percentage of revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, independent, for-profit businesses that – as of December 31, 2008 – had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2005 and $2 million in 2008.
