Guidant Financial Group Co-Founder David Nilssen Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award Finalist in the Pacific Northwest
Bellevue, Washington - (May 13, 2009) – Guidant Financial Group announced today that Co-Founder David Nilssen was named as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award in the Pacific Northwest. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Nilssen was selected as a finalist from nearly 65 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award recipients will be announced at a special gala event on June 26, 2009 at the Seattle Sheraton.
Nilssen suggested that his success has come from "getting out of the team's way.” He continued, "In 2008 we grew by 30 percent, integrated a new CEO and next-level leadership, made the transition from custom-built IT solutions to SAAS(Software As A Service) in every aspect of our business, and became almost entirely paperless - saving more than 2 million sheets of paper annually." He expressed appreciation of the staff for staying maniacally focused in the face of adversity saying, "our team responded masterfully to the changing economy and the challenges we faced.”
When asked what to expect from Guidant in 2009, Nilssen simply said, "we are about to release a massive campaign to change America.”
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program celebrates its 23rd anniversary this year. The program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities in 50 countries throughout the world.
Regional award recipients are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year national program. Award recipients in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipient, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 14, 2009.
