The Role
As an Account Representative I at Guidant Financial, you will support small business owners who utilize their 401(k) plan administration services. A large part of the role involves taking inbound client calls, answering questions, and assisting clients in resolving 401(k) plan related issues. You will also be responsible for reviewing the documents submitted by clients and proactively updating the system to reflect all changes. Collaboration with other members on the team, such as Plan Administrators and Compliance Specialists, will be required to ensure timely completion of tasks including 5500 filings, distribution requests, loan requests, and other documents.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage a queue of cases and respond within a defined time frame
- Develop a basic understanding of retirement plans, specifically 401(k) Plans
- Ability to complete tasks independently while also collaborating within your team and department
- Advise clients of internal processes and assist clients with navigating multiple systems
- Obtain and analyze documents submitted by clients for accuracy
Additional Functions
- Assist clients and team members on advanced retirement plan topics including terminations
- Contributing to department and team projects
- Performs other duties as required
Job Specifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations Preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to adapt easily to process and organizational changes
- Ability to have difficult conversations with clients while maintaining professional demeanor
- Meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving
- Skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
- Ability to work overtime with increased requirements leading up to set deadline period for clients with limited Paid Time Off (PTO) allowed
- Ability to work in an autonomous environment where you can be a self-directed, independent worker

For this position there are minimum work from home requirements that must be met in order to perform the essential functions in a remote work from home (WFH) environment. These include 1) a space to work out of (i.e., home office) and 2) High speed internet.
